My Favorite Books of 2024

And reflections on a year of reading

2024 didn’t start out as a particularly great reading year for me, and I’ve worked hard to catch up on what I missed as the year winds down. The first few months of the year were stressful for me personally and professionally, and I had a hard time finding books I could really dive into from the first page. I read a lot of fanfiction (which I guess could be an entire separate list. If anyone is interested, just email me) because it was comfortable and easy and low stakes. And I think you’ll see that reflected in some of my favorite reads this year. I like books that feel like a warm sweater or a bowl of soup, books with low conflict but high emotional stakes.
