The Next Big Things
and my most anticipated for the rest of 2026
Hi friends!
‘Tis the season for best of the year so far lists - somehow, we’re halfway through 2026. I’m not halfway through my resolution to listen to 40 audiobooks this year. I think I’ve maybe listened to one. But I’m dedicating myself to listening to Dungeon Crawler Carl (for you, dear readers) and that should net me at least 5 more.
But I also don’t feel like I’ve read half of the books I’m going to love this year already. And when I sat down to think about a best of the year so far list, I didn’t feel like I had much to share with you. This has been kind of a weird reading year for me, and I’ve already talked a lot about most of the books I’ve loved (Games, releasing June 30).
What I’ve been looking for, and what I think a lot of romance readers are looking for, is something blazingly original and unputdownable. And that’s hard to find!
All of that said, there are a lot of new books on my radar that I’m excited about, and a lot of books blowing up on TikTok that are about to be the next big thing. So without further ado, I present to you: my list of predictions for the next big books in romance and beyond.
