I'm not committing multi-book series reading time without a guarantee of multiple HEAs--but if the producers of Gossip Girl want to make this for Netflix I would watch the shit out of it.

In fairness, there is HEA. It just takes about 400000000 pages to get there (and the series isn’t finished so we don’t know the fate of all the characters)

Fair! I was thinking of it as not an HEA guaranteed at the end of each book in the series. It does seem like we'll get there eventually, although opinions are very divided on who everyone should actually end up with.

Yes. The booktok community is very divided — which I think makes it even more fun? It doesn’t help that the author has been very clear she hasn’t started writing the last two books yet, so that makes fans a bit …. Feral.

Interestingly enough, A24 is developing this into a series -- and now having read all of the above, I'm curious what kind of solid throughline & theme they're going to find for this...

I have never heard of this series but some of this description is reminding me of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series…?

I just finished them and I loved every angsty moment. I keep trying to get friends to read them so I have someone to swoon with. With the right casting, the streaming adapt will be epic.
